Great question!
Community volunteer days are 4 paid days per year where Whereby offers our team support to donate their time and volunteer to a cause in their community.
These days can be booked on Bob, and our team will be rewarded for participation individually and as groups. 🙌
<aside> 👕 Reward! 🏆👕 If you complete four community volunteer days in the year you get a special T-shirt at the end of the year. This t-shirt will change every year, and will be specially designed for everyone to wear on their community volunteer days in the subsequent year. In this year, the initial year, we will offer the special t-shirt when you first book your FIRST community volunteer day. Please use #help-please to let the People Team know you have a day booked, and we will send a T-shirt to you.

The purpose of Whereby’s community volunteer program is to:
The intention of this initiative is to create community engagement opportunities for everyone in our Whereby core team. These days should be meaningful, purposeful and helps those in need in line with our ETHOS. At the same time, we want to recognise that participating in these activities will also enrich and inspire the lives of our everyone in our team. ‘Community’ is not defined as just local community, but may encompass a global perspective, in the same mindset as we think about our mission: a world where anywhere works.
We have created a new “time off” type called ‘Community Volunteer Day’ on Bob.
You have 4 days per year. These day requires no approval on Bob to book, but please inform your manager and ensure this works.

If you elect to form a group and join more than 4 other Whereby team members for a community volunteer day, we will subsidise your travel and a lunch (within reason). 🥪 Please refer to Expenses and Revolut for more info, but remember Our Overarching Policy (if you read one Notion page, make it this one!) always applies.
