Our vision at Whereby is a future where "anywhere" works.

This means we believe in the power of distributed working in our own team, taking our own medicine and finding ways to build a remote-first company which allows our team to manage how they work, when they work, and where they work.

Working from everywhere also means the times in which we do our work becomes less critical. This is because we have people working from California to Czech Republic, it simply doesn't make sense to require everyone to strictly work from 9 to 5 where they are.

For this reason, we adopt a flexible working approach, and are "hours agnostic".

<aside> 💡 What does that mean? At its core, Hours Agnostic is a working schedule which allows our team to choose when to start and end their workday, and/or how long to take their break for.

We use our overarching policy to guide us: Our Overarching Policy (if you read one Notion page, make it this one!) We treat each of our our colleagues like adults and, crucially, we Trust Trust.

This means we do not:

• Track or log your hours
• Monitor your whereabouts
• Measure your contribution by the time you spend online
• Tolerate our team working unsustainable hours

But it also means we expect our team to:

• Manage their time wisely
• Communicate their availability effectively and efficiently for those they work with
• Alert their team lead if they feel they're working unsustainable hours
• Default to asynch communications wherever possible
• Measure our reports by the impact in the work they do, rather than 'time online'
