Our onboarding process begins with a thorough orientation designed to familiarize you with our company culture, policies, and procedures. You'll have a few meetings scheduled in your calendar that are ready for you to join. These meetings include a welcome session with the VP of People, a one-on-one meeting with your onboarding buddy, a meeting with your direct manager to go through the onboarding process, team, and expectations, and a Linearity Curve & Move Demo with a Product Designer to cover Software design tools in more detail.
We understand that learning the ropes can take some time, which is why we provide ongoing support to all of our new hires. We have an open-door policy, so you can always reach out to your manager or the People team with any questions or concerns.
Our new joiner intro session is an important part of our onboarding process and it’s happening every last Friday of the month. It's a great opportunity for our new team members to introduce themselves to the rest of the company and get to know everyone better.
The session typically begins with a brief introduction and we learn more about your background, hobbies, and interests. One of our favorite icebreakers is "2 Truths and 1 Lie," where each new joiner shares three statements about themselves, and the rest of the team has to guess which statement is the lie. This game is always a lot of fun, and it helps our new joiners to get comfortable with sharing personal information about themselves in a lighthearted way.
At Linearity, we believe that building strong relationships and a positive team culture is crucial for our success. Our new joiner intro session is just one small way that we work towards this goal. By creating a welcoming and inclusive environment from day one, we hope to set the stage for a positive and productive work experience for all of our team members.
One of our Product Designers will give you a product demo and navigate you through our tool's user interface, access its various features, and perform key tasks related to your role. We'll also provide you with helpful tips and tricks to ensure that you get the most out of our tool. By the end of the demo, you'll have a solid understanding of how Linearity Curve & Move works.
You can then apply the design skills you've learned in our monthly design challenge. Each month, we'll provide you with a theme or prompt, and your task will be to create or animate a design using our tools. You can draw, sketch, design or animate anything you like, as long as it aligns with the theme. Once you've completed your design or animation, you can submit it for review. The winner will receive a prize and recognition from the team. We encourage everyone to participate and have fun with it. 🥳
At Linearity, the buddy program is designed to help new employees acclimate to the company culture and work environment. From your first day on, you will be assigned a buddy who will be available to answer any questions you may have in your first few months.
Your buddy will be someone who is not part of your direct team, so you can make connections outside of your usual working bubble. They will be there to provide guidance, offer advice, and share their experience to help you navigate any challenges you may face as a new employee.
Linearity encourages new hires to take advantage of this program, reminding them that there are no stupid questions and that their buddy is there to support them in their transition to the company.
