Mimic what we used to have when we were not full-remote: a day wher we can structure our time however we like, uninterrupted. We used to have an office and people could work from home to find that level of focus. Now we're full remote so the craze took another shape: zoom calls!
It's important to make space for what matters, it doesn't mean we don't apply it on other days.
On Wednesdays, we wear pink no internal meetings besides the morning stand-up (and even them that's up to your team really). You're encouraged to reject any other internal meeting that comes your way on a Wednesday and share options to reschedule.
By doing this we also want to encourage people to take ownership of their time and structure it however works best, even if that means deep work takes precedent over internal zoom calls, whether you call it "deep work", "my time" or "no meetings".
We do, however, have a few guidelines so we can all read each others' calendars and know what information to rely on:
Remote life has its set of challenges - one of them is to avoid burn out and remember to take breaks and move around. This is how we proactively mitigate that risk and encourage best practice.
